We have lots to do!

Webelos has lots of things to do by September so a few boys can earn their badge and awards before their birthdays! If everyone is up to it, and with your help, we can work hard the next couple months and get a lot accomplished for everyone. Here is the plan:

Wednesday, July 7th

  1. 5 mile Taylor Creek Hike at Kolob. (Outdoorsman #9)
  2. Meet at Stephanie's house at 2:00 prepared with permission slip, water, treats, hat, sunscreen, good shoes (you will get your feet wet.
  3. Any parent volunteers to help drive? We need to fit 3-4 boys.
  4. We will talk about "Leave No Trace" and work on that award and Outdoorsman #5
  5. The boys will observe 6 Wild Animals and describe where they saw them and what they were doing. (Naturalist #6)
  6. Have the boys plan next weeks late night for families. (Outdoorsman #2)

Wednesday, July 14th (a very big day, but well worth it)

  1. I will try to make an appointment with the armory to do Citizenship (required for Webelo Badge) Maybe 3:00-5:00ish, will need a permission slip.
  2. Meet up at 3 Peaks at 7:00 with your family to do Outdoorsman, Leave no Trace
  3. We will do some kind of Outdoor Conservation Project (Outdoorsman #6) any ideas....
  4. Outdoorsman #7 outdoor fire safety, build a fire and put it out.
  5. The boys will help with hotdog roast, smores (Outdoorsman #8)

To finish Outdoorsman, do #1 at home

If all goes well, boys should earn:

Fitness

World Conservation Award

Leave No Trace Awareness Award

Webelos Badge

You will have to do somethings at home like Naturalist for World Conservation Award and work on the religous emblem (or other requirements) if you need your Webelos badge earned soon. After the Webelos Badge we can work on Arrow Points and Arrow of Light. For most of the boys we have a lot to do by September, the newer boys, if you stick with us, you can have a great head start! If you want to earn the Arrow of Light before September/October, we will need to do another hike.
